Basic and professional

To provide basic science and clinical training courses in microbiology, immunology, pathology and hematology. The curriculum also includes clinical professional knowledge, such as clinical microscopy, clinical physiology, clinical serology, clinical microbiology, clinical biochemistry, and clinical hematology. The fourth year includes a semester of internship where students can utilize what they learned in the previous three years in practical application; and the other semester is spent on studying an area of interest chosen by the student. 

Elective courses include biotechnology, mass spectrometry, toxicology, analytical toxicology, molecular diagnosis, human genetics and chromosome abnormality analysis.

Emphasis on English proficiency

English is currently the international language, other than general English comprehension, special emphasis on English proficiency is the addition of English conversation courses to improve English communication capability.

Emphasis on proficiency in computer application

Given computer technology is commonplace today in analytical instruments, data processing and laboratory management, courses are provided in the first year that teach computer principles and application.

Emphasis on molecular and cellular biology

In light of molecular biotechnology being the future trend of laboratory sciences, students are required to take molecular and cellular biology courses during the second year, and biotechnology course during the third or fourth year, then apply these knowledge during their laboratory training in clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, and clinical serology.
